Chad J. Sullivan is a Member in the Firm's Evansville, Indiana, office. His practice focuses primarily on litigation and labor and employment law. He has represented and counseled employers on a variety of labor and employment issues, including covenants not to compete, drafting company employee policies and procedures, wage and hour, civil rights discrimination, FMLA, sexual harassment, union avoidance, union elections, defense of unfair labor practice charges before the NLRB and wrongful discharge and speaks frequently on labor and employment law topics. He has represented businesses and trustees in complex litigation involving trade secrets, breach of contract, fiduciary duties, securities and business torts. Mr. Sullivan also represents the coal and oil and gas industries in litigation regarding royalty disputes, lease interpretation, slurry injection rights, coalbed methane and other mineral ownership issues, objections to longwall mining and determination of working interest ownership. Before joining Jackson Kelly, Mr. Sullivan practiced at Rhine Ernest LLP. He received his law degree from Washington University ‑ St. Louis, where he received the Scholar in Law Award and was an Associate Editor of the Washington University Law Quarterly. He received his undergraduate degree in human resource management from the University of Missouri.
