Jacques Aigrain

Mr. Jacques Aigrain, Ph.D., was a Partner and Managing Director of Warburg Pincus LLC from 2013 to 2016 and has since continued with Warburg Pincus as a Senior Advisor. Mr. Aigrain focuses on the financial services sector. He served as the Chief Executive Officer of Swiss Re America Holding Corporation. He serves as an Advisory Director of the Qatar Financial Centre Authority. He served as the Chief Executive Officer of Swiss Re Ltd (Swiss Reinsurance Co.) from January 1, 2006 to February 2009 and its Member of the Executive Board since June 2001. He has spent most of his professional career in the insurance and banking sectors. Mr. Aigrain served as the Head of the Financial Services Business Group at Swiss Re Ltd since June 2001 and also served as its Head of Client Markets Unit since September 2005. He served as the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Swiss Re Ltd from January 1, 2005 to January 1, 2006. He joined Swiss Re Ltd in June 2001. He started his career with J.P. Morgan & Co. Inc. in 1981. He went on to Head of Swiss International Air Lines Ltd's Healthcare and Chemicals Merger & Acquisitions unit from 1991 to 1996. Since 1998, he served as Co-Head of M&A and Head of investment banking for the classical economy sectors. Immediately, prior to joining Swiss Re, he served as a Managing Director with JPMorgan, where he served as Co-head of Investment Banking Client Coverage, was responsible for the financial institutions and classical economy sectors. He was also both Co-Global Head of M&A and Head of Financial Institutions at J.P. Morgan. Mr. Aigrain was the Chairman of LCH.Clearnet (US) LLC and LCH.Clearnet Limited. He served as Non-Executive Independent Chairman at LCH. Clearnet Group Ltd. from April 2010 to March 5, 2015. In prior years, he served as a director of Lufthansa German Airlines from 2007 to 2015; as Chairman of LCH Clearnet Group, Limited, a clearinghouse group, from 2010 to 2015; and as a director of Resolution Ltd., a financial services company, from 2010 to 2013. Mr. Aigrain has extensive experience as an executive and board member of several multinational companies, including as the Chief Executive Officer of Swiss Re, a publicly traded reinsurance company. His background provides him with expertise in all areas of strategy, mergers and acquisitions, finance, and capital markets. Additionally, he brings with him substantial knowledge of board- and governance-related matters. He served as an Interim Executive Chairman and Executive Director of LCH. Clearnet Group Ltd. from September 25, 2013 to February 03, 2014 and also served as its Non-Executive Chairman and Non-Executive Director from April 2010 to September 25, 2013. From 1996 to 1998, Mr. Aigrain served as Chairman of JPMorgan et Cie SA, was responsible for restructuring the French operations. He has been a Non-Executive Director of Qatar Financial Centre Authority since April 2012. He has been a Non-Executive Director of WPP plc since May 13, 2013. He has been an Independent Member of Supervisory Board at LyondellBasell Industries N.V. since May 10, 2011. Mr. Aigrain has been an Independent Non-Executive Director of London Stock Exchange Group plc since May 2013. He serves as a Director of Friends Provident Holdings (UK) Limited. He has been a Director of Swiss International Air Lines AG (formerly Swiss International Air Lines Ltd.) since December 6, 2001. He served as Member of Supervisory Board at Deutsche Lufthansa Aktiengesellschaft and its subsidiary, Swiss International Airlines AG from July 3, 2007 to April 29, 2015. He served as Non-Executive Director at LCH. Clearnet Group Ltd. from April 2010 to March 5, 2015. He served as a Director of Friends Life Group Limited from February 1, 2010 to March 28, 2013. He also has served as Chairman of The Geneva Association. He has over 30 years of broad financial services experience. He is a dual French and Swiss citizen. Mr. Aigrain holds a Ph.D., in Economics in 1981, from the Sorbonne University; studied Law at the Sorbonne and an MA in Economics at Paris-Dauphine University.
