C. Robert Henrikson has been Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of MetLife and Metropolitan Life Insurance Company since April 25, 2006. Previously, he was President and Chief Executive Officer of MetLife and Metropolitan Life Insurance Company from March 1, 2006, President and Chief Operating Officer of the Company from June 2004, and President of its U.S. Insurance and Financial Services businesses from July 2002 to June 2004. He served as President of Institutional Business of MetLife from September 1999 to July 2002 and President of Institutional Business of Metropolitan Life Insurance Company from May 1999 to June 2002. During his more than 35-year career with MetLife, Mr. Henrikson has held a number of senior positions in the Company's Individual, Group and Pension businesses. Mr. Henrikson is a Director of the American Council of Life Insurers, a Director Emeritus of the American Benefits Council, Chairman of the Board of the Wharton School's S.S.
