Notes | In 1992, paleoconservative Pat Buchanan launched a failed bid for the GOP presidential nomination. Buchanan’s campaign manager was Paul Erickson, a former staffer with the national College Republicans who had some experience in managing political campaigns. Also working on the campaign was George D. O’Neill, Jr., a tech-savvy Rockefeller heir who was adept with computer databases. After a promising opening primary in the state of New Hampshire, the Buchanan campaign quickly fizzled out. |
