Maala is a non-profit corporate membership organization promoting corporate social responsibility (CSR) in Israel. Founded in 1998, Maala is considered as the CSR standards-setting organization in Israel. Presently, the membership organization is comprised of some 115 members, Israel’s largest companies. Maala publishes the Maala ESG index annually on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange, and as of 2016 organizes an annual international CSR conference in Tel Aviv

CSR IN ISRAEL
Corporate social responsibility is an integral part of the business values of many Israeli companies. In 2018, 150 companies voluntarily participated in the annual Maala ESG Rating. These companies together comprise some 310,000 employees, annual sales of 410 billion shekels (c. US$118 billion), representing approximately one-third of Israel’s GDP.
Momo joined Maala’s team in early 2006, bringing with him extensive experience working in public policy frameworks and environmental and community work.

As manager of the Maala ESG Rating, Yair has extensive experience in initiating and driving sustainability and CSR changes within leading companies.
Omer leads the effort to extend the Maala ESG index to small and mid-size companies, and has significant experience in driving and assisting SMEs to initiate change from within.
Shani is profoundly interested in sustainable urban development. She has a B.A. in Sustainability & Government from IDC Herzlia with a focus on community development.
Elisha followed his passion for sustainability and environment and joined Maala in 2017, prior to which he was involved in a culture, night-life start up in Jerusalem.
