My mission was to develop and create a sense of membership in a statewide network supporting and enabling technology of education, government, healthcare, and other public-facing organizations. As changes in technology accelerated, I worked to build a team that helped our member organizations maximize the benefits of the changes and the value received from their technology investments. My work was the foundation on which WiscNet was built, and it continues to be a valuable resource today. My primary role was to lead teams of classified and professional staff to develop and manage applications, services and projects for the education community of WiscNet, Wisconsin’s network built to foster education, research, and public service among public and private organizations. Other activities included the following: • Generated cost-recovery business models and budgets for projects and services. • Managed service delivery and application support. • Spearheaded and enhanced member relations efforts. ▬▬ SELECTED ACCOMPLISHMENTS ▬▬ • Built and enhanced communities of interest and community area networks across Wisconsin. • Transitioned the organization from a vendor-customer relationship to a true membership relationship with members as owners. • Instituted the research and education cooperative brand. • Piloted a cost-recovery online course sharing collaborative service among WiscNet K12s. • Engaged in presentations, including to national groups, created and developed and grew the WiscNet conference, and drove other successful efforts to build awareness, value and membership.
