Additionally, Pallotta is co-owner and the chairman of the Italian football club A.S. Along with sisters Carla and Christine Pallotta, he was raised in Boston’s Italian North End Neighborhood. His sisters own and operate NEBO Cucina & Enoteca in Boston’s Financial District.[10] Jim Pallotta received his B.A. at University of Massachusetts – Amherst and received his M.B.A. at Northeastern University. Professional background[edit] Raptor Group[edit] Pallotta founded Raptor Group, a private investment company with offices in Boston, MA; New York, NY; Miami, FL; London, England; and Abu Dhabi, UAE. Raptor focuses on various industries including, but not limited to: Sports, Consumer, Technology, Media, Entertainment, and Financial Services. A.S. Roma[edit] Pallotta, along with three other American investors (Thomas R. DiBenedetto, Michael Ruane and Richard D'Amore) acquired Serie A football club A.S. Roma in 2011.[11] On August 27, 2012 Pallotta became the chairman of club, succeeding Thomas R. DiBenedetto, and becoming the 23rd in the club's history.[12] Tudor Investment Corporation[edit] Prior to Raptor Group Pallotta served as a Vice Chairman and Partner at Tudor Investment Corporation. Initiatives[edit] Pallotta is a member of the Board of Trustees for the Santa Fe Institute[13] and the Board of Trustees for Northeastern University[14]. Pallotta serves on the Board of Directors for New Profit Inc.[15] as well as the Board of Advisors for Tulco, LLC.[16] He is also a member of the Advisory Council for the MIT Media Lab[17] and the External Advisory Committee for the Center for Brains, Minds and Machines (CBMM) at MIT.[18] In addition to these roles as well as other boards and charitable organizations, Pallotta is involved with initiatives in both the digital currency and Artificial Intelligence space. Pallotta contributed to MIT’s Bitcoin Developer Fund which is a part of its Digital Currency Initiative (DCI), as well as the recently created Ethics and Governance of Artificial Intelligence Fund.[19] Other notable contributors to the Ethics and Governance of Artificial Intelligence Fund include LinkedIn Founder Reid Hoffman and Ebay founder Pierre Omidyar.[20]
