Notes Director The University of Utah Sorenson Impact Center Network Member Janis Dubno is a Director at the Sorenson Impact Center at the University of Utah. Previously, she was the Senior Policy Analyst for Early Childhood and Education at Voices for Utah Children, an organization that works to ensure that children are healthy, safe, ready for school, and economically secure. Prior to moving to Utah in 1996, she was an investment banker in New York City for approximately 15 years. Her expertise was in mortgaged-backed securities, and she also has experience in corporate finance, project finance, and interest-rate swaps. After moving to Utah, Dubno joined the Board of Directors of Utah Issues and, subsequently, joined the staff of the organization as the Tax and Budget Policy Analyst. She has written tax policy studies for the Center for Public Policy and Administration at the University of Utah on a contract basis. She has taught in the economics department of the University of Utah and in the finance department of the Gore School of Business at Westminster College as an adjunct professor. Dubno was a member of the Utah Tax Review Commission from 2002 to 2010 and currently serves on the Board of Directors and is the Policy Chair of the Utah Association of the Education of Young Children. She is the Chair of the Early Care and Education subcommittee of the Early Childhood Comprehensive Systems Grant. Dubno received a B.A. in Economics and Political Science from Yale University, and an M.B.A. in Finance from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
