Reed Krakoff

Reed Krakoff is President, Executive Creative Director of Coach, a position he has held since 1999. Prior to his current post, Mr. Krakoff served as Senior Vice President and Executive Creative Director at the corporation for two and a half years. Since joining Coach, Mr. Krakoff has led the creative renaissance at Coach that strengthened an already formidable brand image and contributed to increased sales of Coach products throughout the world. He is involved with all aspects of operations including product development, store design and advertising campaigns, which he now styles and photographs himself. In the last few years, Mr. Krakoff has helped shepherd Coach’s first fragrance, the luxury Legacy collection, a jewelry line, a knitwear collection with cashmere design team Lutz & Patmos, and special collaborations with the fledgling label Trovata and the artist Kiki Smith. In January, 2007, Mr. Krakoff was named vice-president of the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA), an institution that has been extremely supportive of his work. In 2001, the CFDA named him Accessories Designer of the Year. In 2004, he was again awarded this distinction. When he first joined Coach, Mr. Krakoff brought with him 13 years of experience. He held the positions of Senior Vice President, Marketing, Design & Communications from 1993 to 1996, and Head Designer, Sportswear from 1992 to 1993, at Tommy Hilfiger USA, Inc. In the former position, Mr. Krakoff was responsible for all design aspects of the men's collection, as well as worldwide brand positioning and advertising. Mr. Krakoff also served as a Senior Designer for Polo/Ralph Lauren from 1988 to 1992. Mr. Krakoff serves on the board at Parsons School of Design. He is a mentor for the CFDA Vogue Fashion Fund and is heavily involved with the Cooper Hewitt Museum and the Whitney Museum. He holds an A.A.S. degree in Fashion Design from Parsons School of Design and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Art History from Tufts University.
