Michele Rollins is a prominent Republican in Delaware who was married to the founder of Orkin pest control, John Rollins Sr., who also served as the state's lieutenant governor from 1953 to 1957. She graduated from Georgetown University with an undergraduate degree as well as a law degree. Throughout the 1960s and 1970s, Rollins practiced law in the federal government with the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Department of Justice, the Environmental Protection Agency and the Department of the Interior. Rollins herself has been active in politics as both a donor and a candidate. In 2010, she ran for Delaware's only seat in the U.S. House of Representatives but was defeated in the primary by Glen Urquhart.
