Lawrence Stroll

With partner Silas Chou, Stroll engineered the rise of the Tommy Hilfiger label in 1990s, building the brand into a multi-billion-dollar powerhouse. The partners' Hong Kong-based investment company, Sportswear Holdings Limited, struck gold a second time this past fall when Michael Kors Holdings made its debut on the NYSE. Shares have soared more than 75% since the IPO and show no sign of slowing down as the brand's popularity accelerates worldwide. Since Chou and Stroll purchased a reported 85% of the business in 2003, the Kors label has launched the accessible retail brands MICHAEL and KORS, delivering the brand to consumers across the globe. Other brands currently in Sportswear Holdings' portfolio include Tommy Hilfiger Asia, Karl Lagerfield, Pepe Jeans and Hackett. A driving and racing enthusiast, Stroll collects vintage McLarens and Ferraris and is the owner of Canada's Circuit Mont-Tremblant.
