Jon Kelly was born in Berkeley, California and educated at the Lawrenceville School in New Jersey and the University of California, Berkeley. Jon and his brother Bob founded the Kelly Broadcasting Company in 1962, which owned and operated NBC affiliate KCRA-lV in Sacramento; Warner Brothers affiliate, KQCA in Sacramento; and Fox affiliate, KCPQ in Seattle. Kelly Broadcasting was sold in 1999. In 1973 Jon founded River City Bank, the largest community bank in Sacramento, which has an asset base of over $1.0 Billion. Mr. Kelly served as the Bank's Chairman of the Board until 2009 and also served as the President and CEO in the early 1990's. He currently serves as a consultant to the Bank after his daughter was appointed Chairman in 2009. Since 1980, Mr. Kelly has also operated a real estate development company in Northern California, which specializes in suburban office buildings and shopping centers. Between the years of 1986 and 1990. the Natomas Corporate Center, a 70-acre office park in South Natomas including 700,000 square feet of office space, was successfully developed and leased. In 2009 construction concluded on 2020 Gateway Tower, a twelve-story class-A office building containing approximately 300,000 square feet of usable area. The building is LEED Gold CS certified. Presently, Mr. Kelly owns an additional 18 acres in the Natomas area with entitlements to develop over 400,000 additional square feet of office space. In 1998 Jon and his wife Sarah bought a farm in Southern California and entered the thoroughbred horse business. The Kelly family has accumulated approximately 80 horses, including numerous race horses throughout the country and abroad. Mr. Kelly has served as the Director of the California Thoroughbred Horseman's Foundation and as Director of the Thoroughbred Owner's of California. He is currently a Director of the Del Mar Thoroughbred Club. Jon has also served as Director of the Consumer Credit Counselors of Sacramento, Member of the Sacramento Chamber of Commerce, Big Brothers of America sponsor, Executive Board Member of Boy Scouts of America, California State University President's Club, University of Santa Clara Advisory Board, Director at The Sacramento Symphony, Founder and the First President of Safe Streets, Inc. Jon Kelly also established the Kelly Foundation that funds a variety of charities, many aimed to educate young people. Additionally, he is the CEO of KKN, Inc. a family office which performs asset management and advisory services.
