Philip P. Crowley, Esq., is assistant general counsel of Johnson & Johnson in New Brunswick, New Jersey. In 1999, Crowley established—and continues to hold responsibility for—the Johnson & Johnson law department’s online compliance training center for its 110,000-member worldwide work force. Since 2006, he has also served as environmental law counsel for all U.S.-based operating units of Johnson & Johnson. Prior to joining Johnson & Johnson in 1982, Crowley spent several years providing services for large New York City law firms in the mergers and acquisition and securities areas. He then joined the Johnson & Johnson law department, working in the mergers and acquisition and corporate and commercial transactions areas, as well as in FDA regulatory matters for high-technology medical products businesses. Crowley is a past president of the Stevens Alumni Association and past chairman of the Edwin A. Stevens Society. He has served as a director of the Association of Corporate Counsel in Washington, D.C., a member of the editorial board for The Docket, ACC’s monthly magazine, since 2007, and as an officer and director of the New Jersey Corporate Counsel Association since 2001. Crowley is admitted to practice law in New York and New Jersey. He holds a B.S. in physics from Stevens Institute of Technology, an M.S. in applied physics from Harvard University, and a J.D. from the Columbia University Law School. Crowley is a recipient of the Stevens Alumni Award.
