Michael A Leven

Mr. Leven has been a director of the Company since August 2004. He was a director of Las Vegas Sands, Inc. from May 2004 until July 2005. Mr. Leven is the Vice Chairman of the Marcus Foundation, Inc., a non-profit foundation. Until December 2006, Mr. Leven was the Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and President of U.S. Franchise Systems, Inc., which franchises the Microtel Inns & Suites and Hawthorn Suites brands. Mr. Leven formed U.S. Franchise Systems, Inc. in 1995. From 1990 to 1995, Mr. Leven was President and Chief Operating Officer of Holiday Inns Worldwide. From 1985 to 1990, he was President of Days Inn of America. Mr. Leven serves as a director of Hersha Hospitality Trust. Mr. Leven serves on many other non-profit boards.
