John Gibson, a native of Las Vegas, retired as CEO of American Pacific Corporation in December, 2009, and as Chairman of the Board of Directors in March, 2013. He remains a member of the Board. John joined American Pacific in 1992, as Vice President Operations and became President and CEO in 1997 and Board Chairman in 1998. The company produces specialty chemicals in Utah and active pharmaceutical ingredients, fine chemicals, in Sacramento, California. During his tenure the company tripled revenues and increased employment from 180 to 600 at nine locations in the U.S., England and Ireland. Prior to returning to Nevada in 1992, John was Director of Modernization at USS-POSCO Industries, UPI, in Pittsburg, California. UPI is a joint venture of US Steel and POSCO of South Korea. John is a graduate of the Colorado College, B.A. – Economics, cum laude, and holds a B.S. degree in Metallurgical Engineering from the University of Nevada, Reno. He is Past Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Mountain States Legal Foundation, MSLF, in Denver, Colorado. He also serves on the executive committee of the Nevada Taxpayers Association, is a member of the advisory committee for the School of Science, UNR, and is a member of the Nevada State College Foundation. John is a past master of a Masonic Lodge in Concord, California. He and his wife, Marianne, celebrate 59 years of marriage this year and both are active in the charity community. Their son, Jeff, is Vice President of American Pacific and daughter, Holly Gibson Brady is a Vice President at Franklin Resources. They have two grandchildren, Connor and Cameron Brady.
