Dr. West is Dean Emeritus of the Leonard N. Stern School of Business at New York University. He was a professor there from September 1984 until September 1995 and Dean from September 1984 until August 1993. Prior thereto, Dr. West was Dean of the Amos Tuck School of Business Administration at Dartmouth College. Dr. West is also a director of Alexander's, Inc., Bowne & Co., Inc. (a commercial printing company) and 20 investment companies managed by Merrill Lynch Investment Managers.
