She founded the Samuel DeWitt Proctor Academy Charter School in West Trenton, New Jersey, which was the first public boarding school to be chartered in the United States. In addition to the Say Yes to Education Inc. Board, Ms. Miller serves on the Trustees Council for Women, and the Committee for Undergraduate Financial Aid at the University of Pennsylvania. For over a decade Ms. Miller ran her own consulting company in the fashion industry advising both American and foreign companies on the United States fashion market. She handled projects of a wide range from the Philippines, Sri Lanka, and India, to European countries such as Italy, England and Germany. She is a graduate of the College for Women at the University of Pennsylvania, and has an MBA from the Wharton School of Business of the University of Pennsylvania. Ms. Miller is married to attorney William D. Zabel, they have three sons.
