A. Michael Hoffman co-founded Palamon Capital Partners in 1999 and is Chairman and a member of the Operating Committee. He is an American/Austrian national and is fluent in German and Dutch. Mr Hoffman has extensive experience in private equity, built up over the past twenty years. Before founding Palamon, Mr Hoffman was with Warburg Pincus for eleven years, having established the firm’s London office in 1987. Prior to joining Warburg Pincus, Mr Hoffman had a fifteen-year career as a management consultant with McKinsey & Co, Arthur D. Little, and Booz, Allen & Hamilton. Mr Hoffman received a BA cum laude from the University of Texas, an MA in international affairs from Columbia University, and an MBA from Harvard University. He is currently a member of Columbia University’s International Advisory Board,a Director of the United States-Spain Council, the Salzburg Global Seminar, and is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations. Mr Hoffman serves as a Governor of the Royal Shakespeare Company, a Trustee of the Almeida Theatre, Chairman of The Museum of London Development Board, a member of The British Library Campaign Board and a Trustee of The Philharmonia Orchestra.
