Miller co-founded Duty Free Shoppers, or DFS, with Chuck Feeney in Hong Kong in 1960. Feeney and two other investors sold their shares to LVMH in 1996. Miller has kept his minority stake. DFS today has more than 150 airport and downtown retail outlets worldwide. Miller today is the chairman of the Search Investment Group, a private investment concern. The company is a shareholder in Ortelius Capital Partners, an investment firm also backed by Miller's son-in-law Prince Pavlos of Greece. Miller holds a bachelor's degree in hotel administration from Cornell University, where he is a presidential councilor and trustee emeritus. He is also a trustee of the Asia Society.
