Prior to joining Schering-Plough, he held several senior R&D positions at Merck & Co. Dr. Pickett received his B.Sc. in biology from California State University at Hayward and his Ph.D. in cell biology from the University of California at Los Angeles. Dr. Pickett serves on the Board of Overseers at Tufts Medical School and the Board of Visitors at Columbia University Medical Center. He is also a member of the Institute of Medicine of The National Academy of Sciences. Dr. Pickett is a director of Biogen Idec. Dr. Pickett has not yet been assigned to any Board committees. Age 62.
