Rick Horowitz

Richard M. Horowitz is the president and chief operating officer of, and a principal in, R.A.F. Industries, Inc., a diversified holding company based in Jenkintown, Pennsylvania (www.rafind.com). R.A.F. owns and operates a group of sixteen domestically-based operating businesses engaged in the manufacture, leasing and sale of industrial and consumer products. Mr. Horowitz is responsible for day-to-day operations and leads the RAF team that evaluates and consummates new acquisitions. He is also a principal in R.A.F. Ventures, which provides venture capital to early stage, entrepreneurially-controlled companies. Prior to his tenure at R.A.F., Mr. Horowitz practiced corporate law at the Philadelphia law firm of Wolf, Block, Schorr and Solis-Cohen. Mr. Horowitz is a director of a number of private companies, as well as a trustee of several non-profit organizations including the Wistar Institute, one of the nation’s leading biomedical research institutions and the Children’s Crisis Treatment Center, Philadelphia’s largest child-specific mental health organization. He also serves as Chairman of the Advisory Board of the University of Pennsylvania’s Netter Center for Community Partnerships. Previously, Mr. Horowitz served on the boards of Albert Einstein Healthcare Network, Moss Rehabilitation Hospital and the Greater Philadelphia Venture Group. Mr. Horowitz earned a J.D., magna cum laude, from Harvard Law School (1986) and a B.A., summa cum laude, in Economics and Political Science from the University of Pennsylvania (1983). He is a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
