David S. Rose is a seasoned entrepreneur a founder of New York Angels, a large technology investment angel group. As its Chairman since 2003, he has been a catalyst for the development of the technology community in “Silicon Alley.” He is also the Managing Principal of Rose Tech Ventures, which invests in early stage technology startups and Chairman of Egret Capital Partners, a middle market private equity firm. David is also Chairman and CEO of Angelsoft, a provider of online collaboration tools for early stage equity investing. He serves on the Board of Directors of KoolSpan, Pond5, Comixology, and Magnify Networks and has made early stage investments in many other companies including SignStorey, BioScale, DigitWireless, Metaphor Solutions, Goodmail, Content Directions, Zero-G, Critical Mention, Spotlight Data and others. Before founding New York Angels, David had founded AirMedia Corporation in 1988 and he served as CEO for over ten years. Prior to that, his career includes over fifteen years in real estate development, government, teaching and urban planning. A native New Yorker, David is the product of an investment in public schools and a graduate of Horace Mann High School. In May 2010, he received an honorary Doctorate of Engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology for his contributions to innovation and entrepreneurship. He is an Associate Fellow of Pierson College at Yale, a member of the Entrepreneurship Advisory Board of Columbia Business School and the Yale Entrepreneurship Institute Advisory Board. He received his BA in Urban Affairs from Yale University and his MBA in Finance from Columbia University.
