Coleman P. Burke is the founder and Managing Partner of Waterfront Properties, a New York City-based commercial real estate company specializing in office, retail and storage properties with holdings in Ne w York, Maine, Massachusetts, and Colorado. Prior to founding Waterfront Properties, Mr. Burke was a partner at the law firm of Burke & Burke for 13 years. He is a trustee of both the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution and the National Forest Foundation. Mr. Burke serves on the Science Committee of the New York Botanical Garden and is a member of the Leadership Council of the Yale Institute for Biospheric Studies, the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies and the Peabody Museum. Mr. Burke is also a member of a number of civic and professional organizations including, the New York Real Estate Board, Bedford Historical Society, Pjepscot Historical Society, Nantucket Historical Society and is the Founding Chairman of the American Oldtimers Hockey Association. Mr. Burke has spent 15 years finding dinosaur bones in Patagonia and Wyoming and has contributed many of them to museums. He is a member of the Society for Vertebrate Paleontology and a dinosaur is named for him: Orcoraptor Burkei. He has led flag expeditions to Patagonia and Tierra del Fuego. Mr. Burke is currently writing a book about Charles Darwin's early years in South America.
