Willem Kooyker

Began his trading career in the international commodities business in 1964 with Internatio-Muller in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. He eventually became managing director of the International Trading Group and stayed until 1981, when he joined Commodities Corporation in Princeton where he became President. In October of 1984, Mr. Kooyker started a new company, Tricon Holding Company, Ltd., a joint venture between Commodities Corporation and a group of Middle Eastern investors, which was a trading and consulting company in the futures and physicals markets predominantly directed towards energy and industrial commodities. Tricon currently remains only active in the forest products industry. In January 1989, Mr. Kooyker started Blenheim Capital Management, L.L.C., an independent fund management company. Mr. Kooyker was a founding director of Somerset Valley Bank (SVB), a regional bank headquartered in Somerville, New Jersey. SVB was bought by Fulton Financial Corporation in July 2005, and Mr. Kooyker has since become a member of the Board of Directors and Audit Committee of Fulton Financial. Additional professional affiliations have included a four-year term as President of the Cocoa Clearing Association; board service with the Cocoa Merchants Association of America and the New York Coffee, Sugar, and Cocoa Exchange; and a former member of the NY Mercantile Exchange. Mr. Kooyker’s current not-for-profit activities include council member of the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars, headquartered in Washington, D.C., that engages in the study of national and world affairs; the National Mentoring Partnership, whose mission is to assist at-risk youth through facilitating mentoring relationships, where he serves as Finance Committee Chair and Treasurer and is on the Board Executive Committee; and the Far Hills Country Day School, Far Hills, New Jersey, where he acts as Board Finance Committee Chair and Treasurer.
