Alexander Wallace Dreyfoos, philanthropist and founder of CBS12 News (WPEC), has passed away at 91. Dreyfoos died peacefully on Sunday in his sleep at Lourdes Noreen McKeen Residence in West Palm Florida, former Kravis Center CEO Judith Mitchell told CBS12 News. Dreyfoos, born on March 22, 1932, in New York, was a generous philanthropist credited with transforming West Palm Beach into the cultural hub it is today. His legacy includes a high school named in his honor, and most recently the city renamed a corridor through West Palm Beach’s Arts and Entertainment District to Alexander W. Dreyfoos Way.
