Michael C. Arnold served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Ryerson Inc., a metal processor and distributor, until he retired in 2015. Prior to joining Ryerson Inc he was EVP and president of the Bearings and Power Transmission Group at The Timken Company. Arnold joined Timken in 1979 as a sales engineer in Cleveland, Ohio. He held various senior management positions, including vice president and director of bearing business process advancement, director of manufacturing and technology in Europe, Africa and West Asia, and general manager of the company's Asheboro plant in Randleman, N.C. In 1999, Arnold was named president of the company's former Industrial Group. In 2007, Arnold was named president of the Bearings and Power Transmission Group. As president, Arnold provided leadership for the largest business group within the company. Arnold also serves on the board of directors of AGCO Corporation as its lead independent director. Arnold holds a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and a master's degree in sales and marketing from the University of Akron. He also completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard University.
