Roger Berkowitz is president and CEO of the Legal Sea Foods restaurant group. He grew up working in the family fish market in Cambridge, which has evolved into a restaurant and retail group with more than 4,000 employees. He is a member and past president of the Massachusetts Restaurant Association, serves on the leadership council at the Harvard School of Public Health, and is a member of the Massachusetts Workforce Training Fund Advisory Committee. Berkowitz serves on the board of directors for the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston, the regional selection panel for the President’s Commission on White House Fellowships, and on the Massachusetts Special Commission Relative to Seafood Marketing. Berkowitz also serves on many non-profit boards, including Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, UNICEF, and the Environmental League of Massachusetts. He is on the Board of Overseers of Brandeis International Business School. He has been inducted into the Menu Masters Hall of Fame by Nation’s Restaurant News and received the Chairman’s Award for Distinguished Meritorious Service from the Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission. Berkowitz is a graduate of the Newhouse School at Syracuse University and attended the Owner/President Management program at the Harvard Business School.
