ALEXIS P. MICHAS: Age 50; Principal Occupation: Managing Partner and director of Stonington Partners, Inc., a private investment firm based in New York, New York. Director of PerkinElmer since 2001. Member of the audit and finance committees. Mr. Michas has been the Managing Partner and a director of Stonington Partners, Inc. since 1994. Prior to that, Mr. Michas was a partner of Merrill Lynch Capital Partners, Inc. ("MLCP"), a wholly owned subsidiary of Merrill Lynch & Co., Inc., from 1993 to 1994 and Senior Vice President of MLCP from 1989 to 1993. He served on the Board of Directors of MLCP from 1989 to 2001 and was a Consultant to MLCP from 1994 to 2001. Mr. Michas was also a Managing Director of the Investment Banking Division of Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith Incorporated from 1991 to 1994. Mr. Michas received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Harvard College and a Master of Business Administration degree from Harvard Business School. Mr. Michas is also a director of BorgWarner Inc., Lincoln Educational Services Corporation, Air Tran Airways, Inc. and a number of privately held companies.
