Primarily responsible for financing the acquisition of Calspan in 2005, John remains actively involved in strategic business decision making and corporate finance in his role as an owner and Chairman. He was also instrumental in developing Calspan’s new state-of-the-art flight research facility located adjacent to the Niagara Falls International Airport. Today, Calspan relies on John’s leadership, business acumen, and entrepreneurial abilities to guide its growth plan. John founded Matrix Development Corporation in 1990 and has successfully developed, financed, and constructed several million square feet of commercial real estate in Western New York, the New York City metropolitan area, and in Florida. Prior to entering real estate development, he was a loan officer on Wall Street, a corporate economist, and a university instructor at SUNY Buffalo, Medaille College, and SUNY Fredonia. John holds a B.A., M.A. and Ph.D. (ABD) in economics from the State University of New York at Buffalo. John is a board member of the Albright Knox Art Gallery, Friends for Felines, and a former Chair of the American Red Cross Greater Buffalo Branch. He is also a Board of Trustees member of the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, Daemen College, and Eyes Across America.
