Guy Lansdown was elected Executive Vice President, Development in October 2008, after having served as Senior Vice President, Project Development and Technical Services since 2007. He previously served as Vice President, Project Engineering and Construction from 2006 to 2007 and as Project Executive on the $1.5 billion Boddington project in Australia. Prior to this, he held key project and operating positions for Newmont throughout the world including Indonesia, Peru and Australia. He joined Newmont in 1993 as Project Manager for Minera Yanacocha after serving as an Associate for Knight Piesold and Manager of Projects for Group Five in South Africa. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering and a Master of Science in Project Management from the University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa.
