Carrie E Dwyer

Carrie E. Dwyer heads Corporate Oversight for The Charles Schwab Corporation and Charles Schwab & Co., Inc., its principal operating company. Dwyer's responsibilities include corporate counsel, domestic and international compliance, risk management and fraud investigations, internal audit and government affairs. Dwyer is co-chair of the global risk policy committee of The Charles Schwab Corporation. Prior to joining Schwab in 1996, Dwyer served as senior counselor to Arthur Levitt, chairman of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. As the chairman's senior policy advisor, she was responsible for policy formulation and implementation on a number of the chairman's significant priorities, including enhanced oversight of the municipal bond markets, derivative products, the NASDAQ market and market structure. Dwyer spent 15 years on Wall Street as senior vice president and general counsel of the American Stock Exchange, and was associated with the law firm of Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy.
