James Kemler was named vice president, group president, Biotech, Osteosynthesis and Development, in January 2008. The leaders of the Biotech and Osteosynthesis divisions and the Development organization report to Mr. Kemler. Mr. Kemler joined Stryker in October 1995 as general manager, Stryker Biotech. He subsequently served as vice president, group president of Biotech, Spine, Osteosynthesis and Development. Prior to joining Stryker, Mr. Kemler served as chief operating officer for Sabratek Corp. He previously held various positions with Baxter International in the U.S. and Germany, including vice president, global marketing/R&D; vice president, global manufacturing; and director, finance. Mr. Kemler holds a B.S. in Engineering from Duke University and an M.B.A. from the Harvard School of Business.
