Charles Koontz, an Executive Vice President at Booz Allen Hamilton, is a leader in the firm’s commercial business. He has more than 28 years of experience in leading organizations through transformations that have positioned them for growth in an ever-changing, global environment. He has worked in a variety of industries including manufacturing, telecommunications, healthcare, energy and government. His understanding of strategy development, organizational design and enabling information systems has made him an effective advisor to companies and their executives around the world. Mr. Koontz has managed a wide range of organizations directing as many as 9,000 employees in companies with revenues exceeding $1.5 billion. He has led these organizations through start-up, turnaround, and major growth modes. Before joining Booz Allen in 2011, he served as Group President of the information technology and network solutions group at SAIC, where he managed all aspects of its global engineering and IT services business focusing on the federal civilian, energy, and health markets. He was President of the telecommunications, media, and networks practice for Cap Gemini, an international professional services firm and, Managing Partner of the telecom and media practice at Ernst & Young. Mr. Koontz holds a B.S. degree in industrial and systems engineering from Ohio State University and has completed work towards an M.B.A. at the University of Cincinnati.
