Steven H Temares

Bed Bath & Beyond announced Monday May 13 2019 that CEO Steven Temares is stepping down, “effectively immediately,” as activist investors push for changes at the retailer. Temares is also resigning from Bed Bath & Beyond’s board. Mary Winston, who was recently named to the board, will serve as interim CEO until a replacement is found. Steven H. Temares currently serves as Chief Executive Officer of the Company. Mr. Temares was President and Chief Executive Officer from 2003 to January 2006. Mr. Temares was President and Chief Operating Officer from 1999 to 2003. Mr. Temares joined the Company in 1992 and has served as a director since January 1999. Temares went to Rutgers University, where he went on to graduate with a Bachelor of Arts in 1980. Eventually, he went to the University of Pennsylvania as well, where he emerged from its Law School with a Juris Doctor degree in 1983.
