E. ALLEN DEAVER retired in 1998 as Executive Vice President and a director of Armstrong World Industries, Inc., of Lancaster, Pennsylvania. He is a director of the Geisinger Health System. He graduated from the University of Tennessee with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. Mr. Deaver is chair of the Compensation, Governance and Nominating Committee and a member of the Executive, Finance and Nuclear Oversight Committees. He also serves as the lead director and presiding director who chairs executive sessions of the independent directors. He has been a director since 1991; his term expires in 2009.
