Prior to joining Family Dollar Stores, Winston served as senior vice president and CFO for Giant Eagle, a leader in grocery and fuel retail with over $10 billion in revenue. Before joining Giant Eagle, she was executive vice president and CFO for Scholastic Corp., a global leader in publishing, education and media. Prior to joining Scholastic, Winston held several vice presidential and executive-level positions with broad, global financial responsibility at Visteon Corp., a multibillion dollar global automotive supplier; Pfizer, the world's largest global pharmaceutical company; and Baxter International, a global diversified health care company. She began her career in public accounting as an auditor with Arthur Andersen & Co. Winston sits on the board of directors and is chairwoman of the audit committee of Dover Corp. (NYSE: DOV), an $8 billion diversified manufacturer of industrial products. She also sits on the board and audit committee of Plexus Corp. (NASQ: PLXS), an electronics contract manufacturer. A certified public accountant, she earned an MBA degree from Northwestern University's Kellogg Graduate School of Management and a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Wisconsin. Winston, her husband and two children reside in Charlotte, N.C.
