Nomiki Konst is the 26 year old Founder and Executive Director of Alliance Hollywood, the first advocacy group to organize the entertainment industry to raise awareness and funds in order to “clean lobby” Capitol Hill for social causes. Their agenda is specifically geared towards the following issues: · Reform of FDA/USDA standards on food, water, and prescription drugs · Creating national “green” standards · Education reform · Human trafficking · Homelessness Alliance Hollywood aims to use lobbying to fight corporate lobbying via the entertainment industry. Alliance Hollywood also aims to use all forms of media to help inform and activate young people about these issues. Konst is also currently the founding editor of The Yippie blog (TheYippie.com) which is an online publication that serves as the voice of Generation Y Yippies. Previously a campaign director and consultant, she has worked on local, national and federal campaigns in Arizona, California and New York State as well as for Hillary Clinton’s 2000 Senatorial and as an intern for Senator Charles Schumer of New York. In 2009, Nomiki produced a documentary drama highlighting her mother, Kathy Konst’s campaign for New York State Senate. Konst also writes for several publications such as: The Huffington Post, The Environmentalist, LA Progressive and the Yippie. She volunteers for several film festivals and serves on the board of nonprofits.
