Since 1998, Brenda Williams McDuffie has led the Buffalo Urban League as President and Chief Executive Officer. McDuffie started her career as a paralegal aide for Neighborhood Legal Services. After working as Senior Manpower Coordinator for the City of Buffalo Human Resources Department, she became Director of Planning at the Buffalo & Erie County Private Industry Council (PIC). From 1994 to 1998, she served as PIC's Executive Director. Active in the community, McDuffie has participated on numerous boards, including the Western New York Foundation, Buffalo State College and Buffalo Niagara Convention & Visitors Bureau. A former trustee for Millard Fillmore Hospital, McDuffie is also a member of the Independent Health Association. Throughout her career, she has earned public recognition, including the NAACP Community Service Award, designation as a United Way Volunteer of the Year, and induction into the Western New York Women's Hall of Fame.
