Mr. Charles G. McClure Jr., also known as Chip, is a Founder at Michigan Capital Partners LP. Mr. McClure served as the Chairman of Board, Chief Executive Officer and President of Meritor, Inc. from August 9, 2004 to May 3, 2013. Mr. McClure joined Meritor, Inc. in 2004. He served as the President at Federal-Mogul Holdings Corporation since January 2001, Chief Executive Officer from July 2003 to July 2004 and served as Chief Operating Officer from January 2001 to July 2003. He joined Federal-Mogul Holdings Corporation in 2001. He joined Detroit Diesel Corp in August 1997. From 1983 to 1997, Mr. McClure held a number of management positions with Johnson Controls. He served as Vice President and Managing Director of Johnson Controls' European operation. He served as Chief Executive Officer at Detroit Diesel Corp., since October 1999 and President from August 1997 to December 2000. He served as President, Americas Division of Johnson Controls, Inc., from May to August 1997 and served as the Vice President and General Manager at the Americas Division from June 1995 to May 1997. He spent 14 years in a variety of management positions with Johnson Controls. From May to August 1997 and At Johnson Controls, he served as President of The Americas region, where he held management responsibility for a $3 billion group of 50 manufacturing plants that supplied seating systems and components, headliners, door panels and interior trim. Prior to the European assignment, Mr. McClure served as Vice President and General Manager at joint ventures, directing its joint venture activities and its business with Ford Motor Company and Chrysler Corporation. From 1983 to 1985, he worked at Hoover Universal. During that time, Mr. McClure served as operations Director of material handling products for the newly formed business. Before that, he spent four years at Ford as a heavy-duty truck Sales Engineer and Field Service Engineer. McClure served as a lieutenant (jg) on a U.S. Navy destroyer from 1975 to 1979. He has been an Independent Director of DTE Energy Company since February 02, 2012. He has been a Director of Remy International, Inc. since February 3, 2015. Mr. McClure serves as a Director of Invest Detroit and Penske Corp. Mr. McClure serves as a Director of Business Leaders for Michigan. He serves as a Director of R. L. Polk & Company, Horizons Upward Bound and the Motor and Equipment Manufacturers Association (MEMA). He served as Director of General Cable Corp. since September 07, 2010 to July 20, 2012. Mr. McClure served as a Director of Detroit Diesel Corp., since November 1997. He served as a Director of Intermet Corporation since 2002. Mr. McClure served as a Director of Federal-Mogul Holdings Corporation from January 2001 to July 2003. He served as a Director of Williams Controls, Inc since February 1999. He served as First Vice Chairman and Director of Detroit Regional Chamber from 2011 to 2012. He also served as Chairman of the 2011 Mackinac Policy Conference. He served as first Vice Chair of the Chamber in the 2010-11 program year. He has more than 25 years of automotive industry experience in a variety of leadership roles. Northwood University recognized him in 2010 as one of six nationally known business leaders, in 2007 he was named "Legend CEO" by Automation Alley and in 2006, Crain's Detroit Business ranked him as one of "Detroit's Most Powerful People." He is a member of the Business Roundtable and is active on the boards of directors of Business Leaders for Michigan, Horizons Upward Bound and Invest Detroit. Mr. McClure earned a M.B.A. from the University of Michigan and holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Cornell University.
