Dr. Richard N. Merkin, M.D. is the Founder of Heritage Medical Systems and serves as its President and Chief Executive Officer. Dr. Merkin founded Heritage Provider Network, Inc. in 1996, and serves as its President and Chief Executive Officer. He serves as the Chief Executive Officer of HealthCare Partners, IPA and President of Regal Medical Group, Inc. Dr. Merkin serves on the Boards of over 25 private healthcare organizations and is a consultant to local and national government healthcare committees. He serves as a Member of the Advisory Board of Tennenbaum Capital Partners, LLC. Outside the realm of healthcare, he is a participant in numerous philanthropic activities. Dr. Merkin is the Founder of the Los Angeles Jewish Symphony. He is on the Board of The Center for Accelerating Medical Solutions, United Friends of the Children, and is the Chairman of the California Legislatures Blue Ribbon Commission on Health Care Integrity. He serves as a Member of Advisory Board of Prodea Systems, Inc. He served as a Director of Emergency Medicine Services. His medical school accomplishments were highlighted by his receipt of the Mosby Book Award in recognition of his standing in the top five percent of his doctoral class. He was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha. Dr. Merkin furthered his medical training at the University of California San Diego affiliated hospitals, developing a special interest in emergency medicine. He has lectured in the United States and abroad. Dr. Merkin graduated from the University of Miami School of Medicine following his undergraduate major in Mathematics.
