Ricardo S Malfitano

Ricardo S. Malfitano served as an Executive Vice President of Praxair Inc. since March 1, 2006 to March 01, 2012. He is responsible for Praxair's businesses in South America and Mexico, as well as for Praxair Electronics, Praxair Surface Technologies of Operational Excellence and Supply Systems, Procurement and Materials Management, and Safety and Environmental Services. He served as President of White Martins Gases Industriais Ltd ('White Martins'), Praxair's Brazilian subsidiary since 2001. Mr. Malfitano served as President of North American Industrial Gases and President of Praxair Canada Inc. from 1998 to 2001. He also served as Chief Operating Officer of White Martins from 1997 to 1998 and served as its Chief Executive Officer since 2001. Mr. Malfitano joined White Martins in 1978 and served in variety of positions before being named Division Manager of Medical Gases in 1989 and then General Manager of Industrial Gases in 1992. He earned a degree in metallurgical engineering from Catholic University in Rio de Janeiro.
