David Lesser is a longtime Manhattan Beach resident and former Mayor and City Councilmember who served the city for more than a decade, including roles as Planning Commissioner and Parking and Public Improvements Commissioner. During his tenure, he helped lead major community initiatives such as building the new Manhattan Beach Library, upgrading parks and city facilities, enhancing public safety resources, advancing environmental and school partnership policies, and shaping the city’s “mansionization” ordinance. He also served as a Los Angeles County Library Commissioner and currently represents the area on the Los Angeles County Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCO), as well as on the Clean Power Alliance Citizens Advisory Committee. Professionally, Lesser is an attorney focused on business advising and investment management, bringing both legal and civic experience to his public service.
