David Hadley served one term in the California State Assembly representing the 66th District, which covers much of the South Bay of Los Angeles County. He was elected in 2014, defeating incumbent Al Muratsuchi, and lost a rematch in 2016. Prior to public office, Hadley worked in investment banking, including as a managing director at BT Alex Brown, and later founded Hadley Partners, Inc. Hadley has held several Republican Party leadership roles, including chair of the Beach Cities Republicans and a member of the Los Angeles County Republican Party board representing the 66th Assembly District. During his legislative tenure, he authored legislation related to school enrollment for children of military families and participated in water quality advocacy efforts. He later briefly declared, and withdrew from, a 2018 gubernatorial campaign.
