Barry Waite is a Lomita City Councilmember who was elected in 2020 and previously served on the council from 2005 to 2009, including one year as mayor. He has also served for many years as a Lomita Planning Commissioner and has held appointments to regional boards and oversight bodies, including the Los Angeles County Commission on Local Governmental Services and the LAUSD Bond Oversight Committee. Waite has a long career in public service and city administration with Los Angeles County and the City of Carson, and currently works as a consultant in economic development, land use planning, and geographic information systems. He also serves as president of the Carson Chamber of Commerce and has taught public administration and planning courses at universities in Southern California.
