Michael Newhouse

Mike Newhouse is an attorney, small business owner, and candidate for California State Senate District 24. He has worked in construction, real estate, land use, housing, and environmental law, and has been active in community governance through service on the Venice Neighborhood Council, including as a two-term president, and on regional neighborhood council coalitions. Newhouse has held appointed roles on the West Los Angeles Area Planning Commission and the Los Angeles City Planning Commission, where he focused on housing, land use, and environmental policy. He has also worked with environmental advocacy organizations, taught at USC Law School, and operates a small law firm and real estate brokerage. He lives in Venice with his family.
