Joseph C Guyaux

Joseph C. Guyaux is chairman of the board of directors for Highmark Health, the national health and wellness enterprise based in Pittsburgh that also represents the nation's second largest integrated delivery and financing system. In addition, Mr. Guyaux is the lead director for the Highmark Inc. board of directors, and in 2017, he was elected to the Allegheny Health Network board of directors. Mr. Guyaux retired in 2016 from PNC Financial Services Group, Inc., where he worked for 44 years and served as president from 2002-2012. He held several other senior leadership positions with PNC Financial Services Group including chief risk officer from 2012-2015, and president and CEO of PNC Mortgage from 2015-2016. Mr. Guyaux is chairman of the board and an independent director for Duquesne Holdings LLC and Duquesne Light Company, and he serves on the board of directors for Boston Private Financial Holdings Inc. Mr. Guyaux is also a life trustee for the Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh and an emeritus director for the Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera and Duquesne University. Joseph C. Guyaux is president of The PNC Financial Services Group. In that role he is head of Retail Banking responsible for leading all of PNC's consumer business, which includes consumer and business banking, wealth management and brokerage businesses. Guyaux joined PNC in 1972 and, after holding several management positions, was named senior vice president and manager of Metropolitan Commercial Banking in Pittsburgh in 1989. In 1991, he was elected president of PNC's Northeast PA market, with primary responsibility for the market's retail business. Guyaux was elected executive vice president and retail market manager for the Pittsburgh market in 1993 and elected senior vice president and manager, PNC Private Bank, in 1995. In 1997, he was appointed deputy manager of the Consumer Banking business and later that year he was named chief executive officer of that business. In that role, Guyaux instituted a successful customer-focused strategy that has resulted in increases in net income, customer and employee satisfaction, and extensive employee volunteerism in the eight states the bank serves. He became responsible for PNC's middle market, corporate finance, capital markets, asset-based lending, treasury management and leasing businesses in 2001 and 2002. When appointed president in 2002, Guyaux assumed responsibility for wealth management. In July 2005, Guyaux was named head of Retail Banking. Guyaux is chairman of the board of directors for the Civic Light Opera. In addition, serves on the boards of directors of the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust, Duquesne University, Highmark, Inc., Private Export Funding Corp. (PEFCO) and the Board of Trustees of Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh. A graduate of Brown University, Guyaux received his bachelor of science degree in 1972 and earned his master's in business administration from the University of Pittsburgh in 1984. He is also a graduate of the Stonier Graduate School of Banking.
