Mr. Goldberg is a Senior Managing Director in Sonnenschein’s Public Law & Policy Strategies Practice. He focuses on all aspects of the agenda of the House Financial Services Committee, as well as issues related to health care, the Judiciary Committee, appropriations, the census and a wide range of domestic policy matters. Prior to joining Sonnenschein, Mr. Goldberg spent 10 years serving Democratic Members in the House of Representatives and has extensive relationships with members of the House Democratic Caucus. During his tenure in the House, Mr. Goldberg staffed members of the Financial Services Committee, the Judiciary Committee and the Appropriations Committee. Mr. Goldberg served as Legislative Director and Counsel to U.S. Rep. Brad Sherman (D-CA), where he handled all of the Congressman’s work on the Financial Services Committee including banking, capital markets, housing, insurance, bankruptcy and consumer protection issues. Mr. Goldberg previously served as Legislative Director and Counsel to U.S. Rep Maxine Waters (D-CA), where he handled the Congresswoman’s work on the Financial Services Committee and the Judiciary Committee. Mr. Goldberg began his career on Capitol Hill with Congresswoman Carrie Meek (D-FL), where he served as the Congresswoman’s Legislative Director and managed Appropriations Committee issues with a particular emphasis on Treasury Department issues. Prior to his career on Capitol Hill, Mr. Goldberg was a partner in a large Pittsburgh law firm with a corporate and commercial litigation practice and a health care practice. He also served as Senior Trial Attorney in the Office of Thrift Supervision in the Department of Treasury. Mr. Goldberg received his J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from Oberlin College, where he was a Senior Scholar and a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
