Edward St. John, Founder and Chairman of St. John Properties, started the company in 1971. Headquartered in Baltimore, Maryland, St. John Properties has developed, constructed and owns more than 23 million square feet of office, flex/research & development, retail, and warehouse space, serving more than 2,500 clients in Colorado, Florida, Louisiana, Maryland, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia, Utah, and Wisconsin. In addition, St. John Properties has investments in residential projects encompassing more than 3,000 apartments. St. John Properties is at the forefront of the industry with the design and construction of 100 LEED certified buildings. Today, the company’s assets are valued at more than $5 billion. In 1998 St. John established the Edward St. John Foundation, a separate 501(c)3. The mission, “to provide financial assistance to formal education programs through the high school level,” is based on the belief that “education has the power to transform lives and provide a foundation for success.He left the Foundation Board in 2007, turning philanthropic responsibility over to the other members of the Board of Tru stees.
