US Representative for Washington's 1st district, initially elected to serve the remainder of Jay Inslee's term (Inslee had resigned from the US Congress to focus on the gubernatorial race in Washington state).
She had a business career, first at Microsoft for 9 years, and then in various ventures, including drugstore.com which she help found and Nimble Technology which she lead through its acquisition by Actuate. She also was a strategic advisor for Global Partnerhip a non-profit supporting sustainable solutions and microfiance in South America.
