Jill Sadowsky Docking has been involved in investment brokerage for more than 20 years and she has used her knowledge to help her commu- nity, state and country. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in history from Kansas University in 1978 and her Master of Business Administration from the KU School of Business in 1983. In 1999, Jill founded the Financial Fitness Foundation and currently serves as the organization’s president. In 2007, she was appointed to the Kansas Board of Regents by former Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sebelius and currently serves as chair of the Board of Regents. In addition, she serves on the board of the Sedgwick County Historical Society, the KU Hospital Advancement Board, and the Dana Farber Advisory Board. At the University of Kansas, Jill served on the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences Advisory Board from 2003 – 2006, School of Business Board of Advisors and Executive Committee from 1990 – 1994, School of Business Finance Advisory Board from 2005 – 2008, Hall Center Advisory Board from 1998 – 2008, and Alumni Association Board from 2001 – 2006. In 1993, she became the first woman to receive gubernatorial appointment to Commanding General of the Kansas Calvary, a position she filled until 1995. From 1994 - 1995, Jill was co-chair of Kansas, Inc., a public/private partnership charged with state strategic planning and economic development. In 1995, Jill was appointed by Secretary of Defense William Perry to the Defense Advisory Council on Women in the Military Services. Jill was the Democratic nominee for the United States Senate in 1996. In the summer of 1997, Jill was appointed by Chief Justice Kay McFarland to co-chair the Kansas Justice Commission with Governor Robert Bennett. Serving with Sen. Dick Bond in 2003 as co-chair of the Kansas Children’s Campaign, she worked with a bi-partisan committee to fund preschool education for Kansas children. Jill Sadowsky graduated in 1973 from the McDuffie School for Girls in Springfield, Mass., and studied at Brown University in Providence, R.I., for two years before transferring to KU. Jill married Tom Docking, former Lt. Gov. of Kansas, and they have two children, Brian (31) and Margery (26). Jill ran unsuccessfully for the U.S. Senate in 1996 and for lieutenant governor in 2014
